Another year older, another year wiser. Isn't that what they say? Being on the 30 side of my twenties isn't really all that bad. I think 2002 will be a good year, mostly because it's palindromic and I sure dig those wacky palindromes. It's been nice to have a bunch of days off from work though I'm ashamed to admit I've spent a ridiculous amount of time watching VH1's Behind the Music which they've been broadcasting in alphabetical order for a few days. I've seen the Bangles, Beck, the Black Crowes, Mary J. Blige, and Blind Mellon. Leif Garrett, the Goo Goo Dolls, Grease, Heart, Faith Hill, Billy Idol, Journey. Rick Nelson, the Notorius B.I.G., Oasis. Ah yes, quality time I'm spending here. It's my brother's fault for getting me two months of cable service for my birthday. Anyway, tonight is New Year's and I'm looking forward to low-key pleasantness. Dinner with some friends at the Convivium Osteria, yum. Speaking of dinner the Fourth Annual Brooklyn Dinner Party was a success with braised leeks, winter squash risotto and mussels in a roasted tomato and saffron broth. Oh, and watercress salad with endives, goat cheese and pears. And more pears for dessert, poached, with orange and vanilla flan. It was good. That's about it, really. Hopefully in 2002 there'll be some newness on graphomanic. It's been a while, I know. And I haven't been keeping up with mute, I know, I know. I've been busy. With freelance work. And watching Behind the Music. You know how it is. Happy New Year.
