Does anybody know if there's a word for the art of making handbags, in the way that millinary is the term used for making hats? I have a feeling that there isn't one, but if there is, I really need be enlightened ASAP.

So the Graphomanic newness is officially set for Sept 11. This means I have a deadline to stick to and lots of work left to do. I've also just agreed to do a business card in a rush. I'm thinking of having my computer surgically attached to my body so I can get work done wherever I am at any given point during the day (since 8 hours a day in my office just isn't enough).

Last night my brother and I went to see Will Oldham play at the Warsaw in Williamsburg, but we ended up leaving before he was through playing (after being made to stand around for an hour after the first opening act to hear the second act, Ink, who were amazingly bad, you'd be ruined for the rest of the evening too). The sound really wasn't very good and the place was packed and the crowd was actually making me feel old. At least we got to hear them play New Partner, lyrics below for your entertainment (and because I love this song and because I included Will Oldham lyrics in here months ago and I like to be consistent).

New Partner
There's a black tinted sunset with the prettiest of skies
lay back, lay back, rest your head on my thighs
There is some awful action that just breathes from my hand
just breaths from a deed so exquisitely grand

And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind

Well, I would not have moved if I knew you were here
It's some special action with motives unclear
now you'll haunt me, you'll haunt me
till I've paid for what I've done
it's a payment which precludes the having of fun

And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
but hello, I've got a new partner riding with me
I've got a new partner, hello

Now the sun's fading faster, we're ready to go
there's a skirt in the bedroom that's pleasantly low
And the loons on the moor, the fish in the flow
And my friends, my friends still will whisper hello
We all know what we know, it's a hard swath to mow
when you think like a hermit you forget what you know

And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
And you are always on my mind
I've got a new partner, riding with me
I've got a new partner, riding with me
I've got a new partner, riding with me
I've got a new partner now
